JetBrains was initially founded by three Russians, and today, they have hundreds of employees who work from their Moscow and St. Petersburg offices. Despite that, the company has been vocal about their stance on the Ukraine invasion over the last several weeks. And yesterday, they doubled down and suspended operations in Russia. A tough decision to make.

Over the years, I've watched many tech giants grow, their values evolving over time. Some have removed their "don't be evil" mottos from their codes of conduct, while others have removed essential ports from their hardware and then charged exorbitant prices for dongles to replace those missing ports. But I've used JetBrains for nearly ten years now, and in that time, they've continued to stand by their values.

Plus, their products have only gotten better. If you're looking for a new IDE for Python or Ruby or SQL, I highly recommend checking out what JetBrains has to offer! I can't speak to all their other products, since I haven't used them myself, but tools like PyCharm, RubyMine, and DataGrip have been life savers! They're absolutely fantastic, and I'm proud to use them.
